The Hampton Roads Chapter of US Lacrosse, Inc (HR LAX) sponsors a Spring recreational league for boys in our region. During the 2010 season we had 56 teams and 1035 players participate - a growth of 20% over the prior year. This all-volunteer program includes over 50 certified officials and 120 coaches along with countless volunteers for special events, booster clubs & team parents. The program is subdivided into a Peninsula Division and a Southside Division. Each division consists of Areas that defined within city or county boundaries.
Dates of Play
The Boys Youth League 2011 Spring recreational lacrosse season will begin with Opening Day on March 5th, 2011 and will end with a Jamboree tournament on May 14th and All Star games on May 15th.
Registration will open on November 1st, 2010

Early bird discounted registration is $120 if you register before December 14th

Normal registration is $135 from December 15th through January 31st

Late registration is $170 from Feb 1st through Opening Day

Registration will be closed on March 5th - (please note that we may close registrations for some areas earlier once they are full)
Note: prospective Advanced team players are encouraged to register early to ensure notification of tryout dates and times for their Areas.
US Lacrosse membership through the entire season is required and will be validated at the time you register. You may pay for your US Lacrosse membership or renewal through our registration process or directly with US Lacrosse at www.uslacrosse.org
Boys Youth League age groups are as follows:

U15 - Birth years of 1996 & 1997

U13 - Birth years of 1998 & 1999

U11 - Birth years of 2000 & 2001

U9 - Birth years of 2002 & 2003
Players may apply for a waiver to "play up" one "birth year" if they are experienced and meet maturity and size requirements as determined by the Commissioner.
"Play down" will not be permitted
U11, U13 & U15 age groups are divided into Advanced and Recreational format. Tryouts and/or coach selection is involved for Advanced teams.
Scholarships are available for families who are unable to afford the league fee.
Our boy's youth region extends from Williamsburg, VA to the Outer Banks of NC, from Va Beach, VA to Suffolk, VA and all points in between.
