Register by 1/31 for regular rates! Registration closes on 2/21
by posted 01/21/2020

If you are not yet registered, you need to do so by Feb 21 at the absolute latest.

Select that you will play for the Salem Girls High School team (not JV).

There is a $225 registration fee for HRLax to pay for game field rentals, umpire fees, trainer fees, some durable equipment and partial uniforms for startup teams, etc.

During the registration process, you will be directed to purchase a US Lacrosse Membership at $35, this provides field insurance, sport-related discounts, and a monthly magazine subscription. The league requires this predominantly due to the insurance coverage.

If you have any issues with being able to pay for either membership, please take advantage of the fee reduction options available.  Info here:

Due Now - Medical eligibility
by posted 01/21/2020

All players must be cleared to play sports and have emergency contact information on file.  This is done on the VHSL Physical Form:

For those of you that played a fall or winter sport, you should already have one of these on file with your Student Activities Coordinator or School Athletic Trainer.  You can simply take some camera shots of the pages and email it to to have on hand for the athletic trainer serving our games. You will not be able to practice without this form being completed.

Due Now - Field Trip Form
by posted 01/21/2020

Because we are a club sport, there is no school transportation to our practices and games.  As such there will likely be ride-sharing, etc. Please complete the attached field trip form recognizing that you discussed travel plans with your families and are comfortable with those plans.  Please let us know if you have any transportation issues and would like to talk about ideas on how to solve them.

Please complete and hand in by 2/15.

Due Now - Code of Conduct for HRLax League
Please review and bring back signed.  Please discuss with your family as the cost for poor sportsmanship in the stands is pretty steep to the players and coaches.

Player Supplied Gear / Equipment
by posted 01/21/2020

Players must have a women's lacrosse stick (men's are very different), mouthguard and goggles.  Cleats are nice but not required. Yes, soccer cleats (field hockey likely too) are great for lacrosse.  For the games, if players want to add layers under their uniforms (supplied by the team: home and away jersey and kilt), please wear a white long-sleeved T-shirt or base layer and black tights / shorts under your black uniform kilt.  You will also want to wear either black or white plain socks.

Details regarding playing and safety equipment can be found on the US Lacrosse website:

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

SlamsTown Fundraising

Hi Slamstown Girl’s Lacrosse Program Parents and supporters!

We're kicking off our fundraiser with Snap! Raise, the nation's leading fundraising platform for groups, clubs and teams.   Presently, we plan to do this one, low effort fundraiser for the season.  For the past five years, Snap! Raise has helped more than 35,000 groups in the U.S. raise more than $400M in funding! Our goal this year is to get at least to $2000 to cover expenses and provide a coach stipend.  I'm excited to get started and have one vital request.

I ask that you help your student identify at least 20 people they will reach out to via Snap! Raise, and gather their email address prior to our team chalk/talk practice on Wednesday, January 29.  We will talk again about this at our family meeting on Monday, Jan 27 @ 6pm.

The list of 20 people should include many of your player's biggest fans and needs to be completed in full to ensure our campaign is set up for success. It is my hope and expectation that each student will have a major impact on our program. Here are the next steps:

  • Help your student select at least 20 potential supporters
  • Enter their names and correct email into the NOTES feature on your students' phone
  • Avoid using emails of current teachers, peers of your students, or strangers

Here are 20 examples of people your student should consider adding at a minimum.
    1. Parent(s)/Guardian #1
    2. Parent(s)/Guardian #2
    3. Grandma
    4. Grandpa
    5. Cousin(s)
    6. Uncle(s)
    7. Auntie(s)
    8. Family doctor
    9. Orthodontist/dentist
    10. Church/Social leader
    11. Scout/troop leader
    12. Family friend #1
    13. Family friend #2
    14. Former coach
    15. School alumni
    16. Local businesses that know you
    17. Neighbor(s)
    18. Parent co-worker(s)
    19. Friend of parent
    20. Adult sibling(s)

The first week of practice:

- Our Account Rep, Samuel, will meet with the team at practice to develop site video and give girls instructions on how to load their own quality targets.

Thanks for your support to make this another successful campaign and season!
